Senior Professor Ed Shobe

Nebraska’s first Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt, Professor Ed has trained under Master Rodrigo Vaghi since 1998. He earned his Black Belt in January 2012 and is now a 3rd-degree Black Belt under Master Vaghi.

With decades of experience in training, competition, and coaching, Professor Shobe is dedicated to helping students grow and achieve their goals through the art of Jiu-Jitsu—both on and off the mat. He also brings over 20 years of professional experience working with children and families, including supervising children’s emergency shelters and residential treatment facilities.

In addition to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Professor Shobe has 10 years of Tai Chi training and has also trained and competed in Muay Thai, bringing a well-rounded and traditional martial arts perspective to his teaching.
